Dr. Jaime H. Cárcamo, Psy.D

El Dr. Jaime H. Cárcamo, Psy.D, es un psicólogo clínico con licencia del estado de Nueva York con más de 20 años de experiencia en el campo de la psicología. También es presidente y fundador de la clínica Psychological & Stress Management, PC, y del Hispanic Family Mental Health Center, además de instructor adjunto en el Departamento de Medicina Ambiental y Salud Pública de la Escuela de Medicina Mount Sinai, Nueva York. Obtuvo su educación de posdoctorado en la Escuela de Salud Pública Joseph L. Mailman de la Universidad de Columbia. También fue invitado como Panelista, Facilitador y Conferencista en el IV Congreso Venezolano de Neuropsicofarmacología, Porlamar, Venezuela (julio de 2006). Más recientemente, realizó presentaciones profesionales y capacitación en tratamiento de trauma en la Ciudad de Guatemala, Guatemala, después de la erupción del Volcán de Fuego del 3 de junio de 2018, que traumatizó a una comunidad mayoritariamente indígena, y el XXXIII Congreso Centroamericano y Del Caribe de Psiquiatría, Ciudad de Panamá. La Clínica de Derechos Humanos (The Human Rights Clinic, HRC) es una organización de salud y derechos humanos que ayuda a los solicitantes de asilo que fueron torturados en su país de origen a evitar la deportación y situaciones que amenazan su vida. El HRC vincula a los solicitantes de asilo con médicos voluntarios para realizar evaluaciones médicas y psicológicas para determinar si las denuncias de tortura de los sobrevivientes son consistentes dadas las pruebas físicas y / o psicológicas y, de ser así, proporcionar declaraciones juradas por escrito para los procedimientos de inmigración.
