Erica P. Sandoval, LCSW, SIFI
Erica Sandoval is a passionate licensed bilingual clinical therapist who is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), non-profit leadership, and community engagement. She partners with health care facilities and medical professionals in supporting children, adolescents, and young adults with chronic and critical illness and life transitions. Erica was born in Ecuador and came to the United States at the age of 4 years old. She grew up in Queens, New York, where she continues to serve her community by providing essential services to support mental health. Erica worked at Western Queens Consultation for over 7 years prior to starting her own business. Erica holds a Post Masters in Clinical Adolescent Psychology and a Masters in Social Work from New York University, Silver School of Social Work. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Adolescent Development from Baruch College. During her long career she held many executive positions. She is the First LatinX Immigrant President of the National Association of Social Workers NYC, the largest organization for professional social workers worldwide. Her work focuses on the intersectionality of behavioral health, criminal justice, social disparities, trauma, and human development. During her career, she was the Regional Director of Medical Outreach for Make-A-Wish Metro New York and Western New York, where she developed strategies to support children with critical illness with life changing wishes. Erica’s successful career earned her numerous awards. She is regularly invited to be a guest speaker and panelist by well-known organizations. She will be releasing her first book, LatinX in Social Work in the Fall of 2021.
